
Overview
SFT’s primary goal is to provide underprivileged students and their teachers critically needed school and classroom supplies at no cost by inviting eligible schools to distribution events at our center for items like pencils, paper, binders and more. Our ultimate goal is to improve a young person’s ability to learn, setting them up for educational success.
Eligibility

Schools where 70% or more of the students qualify for a free/reduced lunch through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Washington and Westmoreland counties

Based on prior year NSLP percentage

Full-time classroom teachers, specials and elective teachers, plus other full-time personnel who provide direct instruction to students

SFT serves students Grades K-12
Selection Process

Principals must complete an online application

Schools chosen by an SFT committee

All schools who participated in SFT’s Pilot Program will be invited to reapply
Program Elements

SFT encourages teachers to aim for at least 50% of the products they secure be targeted for student use

At least 60% teacher participation per school is required for continued program engagement

Schools will be scheduled for distribution events at SFT, acquiring critically needed school and classroom supplies for themselves and their students at no cost

SFT is targeting three product distributions per school year based on available inventory

Schools will receive product during the months of July/August, January and April by appointment

SFT will target a special in-school product distribution

SFT will guarantee the basic, most-needed school supplies are on hand for every distribution
